I have borrowed this recipe from my best buddy !!! It’s very simple to prepare and is perfect side dish for rice. I love it’s sweet and sour taste. Hope you too would love it.

Ingredients:
Serves : 3
Duration : 20 Minutes

Spring Onion : 1 bunch
Onion : 1 small
Tamarind pulp : Pulp from gooseberry size
Curry Leaves : few
Cumin seeds : 1 tsp.
Mustard Seeds : 1 tsp.
Hing : Pinch
Turmeric : pinch
Cilantro : few
Salt : As per taste
Water : 1 1/2 cups
Rice flour : 2 tbsp.
Rasam Powder : 1 tbsp. ( I used MTR rasam powder)
Jaggery : small piece(adjust as per taste).
Oil : 2 tbsp.

Method:

  • Wash and cut spring onions (both green and white part) and onions into fine pieces.

  • Heat a pan with 2 tbsp. of oil.

  • Add cumin seeds, mustard, turmeric, curry leaves and hing to it.

  • When they start crackling, add onions to it.
  • Fry them a little and add little water to it.
  • Close lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now add tamarind pulp to it.

  • Add the remaining water and cook it for 5 minutes.

  • Make a paste with little amount of water in rice flour (with no lumps).
  • Add this to pulusu along with rasam powder.

  • Lastly add jaggery to it and cook it for 5 more minutes.

  • Turn off the heat.

  • Serve it with rice and papad.
